As you get older the elasticity of the skin is lost more and more and the tissue beneath becomes
slack – a change in facial expression is an undesired side-effect. Depending on age and condition of the skin the requirements for facelifting are very different from person to person. Lifting the eyebrows can be achieved by tightening the skin on the forehead, at the same time the so-called “worry lines” become tighter. Tightening the area around the eyes can be achieved by lifting the temples, with the cheeks the lines are not only smoothed but the fat tissue which has slipped down is removed. Here too the necessary incisions are made in lines which already exist in the skin and under the ear, so that there are no visible scars later on.
